The extensive announcement builds on the record success of the previous gathering, cementing the event’s growing reputation as a major highlight of the summer independent music circuit.
Launched in July 2024 by brothers Anthony and Edward Prophet, The Brit Fest was created as a large-scale independent celebration of British music, food, and culture. Operating out of its permanent home at the Ashley Hall Showground in Altrincham, the inaugural three-day festival successfully drew over 15,000 attendees to the Cheshire countryside.
The event has rapidly scaled over its subsequent editions, expanding into a comprehensive four-day festival footprint featuring premium camping amenities, artisan hubs, and secondary performance platforms like the Busk Stop stage. Now heading into its fourth annual edition in July 2027 under the Great British Festivals banner, the event has cemented itself as a major, award-winning fixture on the regional independent touring circuit.

Behind the rapid growth of The Brit Fest are brothers and business partners Anthony and Edward Prophet. Standing as Olivier Award nominees and double Offie Award winners, the sibling duo transitioned their extensive experience in West End theatre production and large-scale live events into the regional festival market under the Great British Festivals banner.
Based permanently in the North West, the duo also owns and operates the historic, Grade II listed The Bowdon Rooms venue in Altrincham. Their long-term contribution to local tourism, hospitality, and the regional creative economy led to the brothers being formally awarded the Freedom of Altrincham by the Altrincham Court Leet, alongside receiving a Special Recognition Award from the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester.
The full artist roster for the 2027 festival was officially unveiled at an invite-only Media & VIP Launch Event on Thursday 24th September 2026. Hosted at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Manchester Airport, the packed evening brought together regional press, event partners, and local dignitaries to hear the massive four-day lineup announcement firsthand.
During the presentations, Great British Festivals directors Anthony and Edward Prophet outlined extensive operational updates for next summer’s gathering at Ashley Hall Showground, including an expanded main stage infrastructure, increased site capacity, and revised premium camping layouts. The launch also marked the official box office countdown, ahead of the general ticket sale opening on Thursday 1st October at 10am.
Anthony Prophet spoke with distinct passion and pride regarding the event’s fierce commitment to remaining an independent festival. He emphasised that the vision behind Great British Festivals goes far beyond a standard live music line-up, describing the four-day gathering as a vital community asset engineered to bring people together from across the region to celebrate British food, drink, and shared cultural heritage.
